Salary: £11.69 per hour.

Location: Working in our residential and nursing home for older people in Sunderland. 

Hours: Full and Part time over a 7 day rota. 

The role

We are looking for an enthusiastic qualified Chef to enhance the overall dining experiences for our residents. Working in a residential and nursing home for older people in Sunderland you will manage a busy kitchen.

Preparing menus taking into account nutritional values and balance
Ordering of provisions in consultation with the Manager or other senior
Ensuring food is prepared and cooked in wholesome manner and available at agreed meal times
Ensuring special dietary requirement of individuals are catered for
Managing budgets
Kitchen audits
Staffing rota
Supporting and supervising kitchen staff in daily tasks
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and health and safety
Operating various powered equipment
Our ideal candidate will

Have previous experience of working in a similar environment and role
Be qualified to a minimum level 2 in Catering
Possess a Level 2 Food Safety Certificate
Have experience of managing staff
Be able to work within budgets
Have an understanding of H.A.C.C.P
Have excellent timekeeping and attendance
Have excellent organisation and planning skills
Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Be able to work on own initiative
Be able to move and handle kitchen equipment in a safe manner
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Charity policies and procedures
