Fostering North East – Supervising Social worker

Salary: £36,000 per annum

This role attracts a Welcome Bonus of £500

Closing date: 29 February 2024. 

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne.

Hours: 35 hours per week (you will need to work flexibly to meet regulatory requirements for example be part of the 24/7 out of hours duty rota).

The role:

We are looking to recruit a qualified and dedicated Supervising Social Worker to work within our fostering service. You will have a passion for children and young people, excellent organisational skills, the ability to meet deadlines and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will work closely with foster carers and looked after children and you will supervise a small caseload.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a recognised social work qualification and have professional registration with Social Work England.
  • Have the ability to monitor and comply with all regulatory requirements, including Ofsted and safeguarding.
  • Provide and contribute to support packages for carers and young people.
  • Contribute to effective recruitment, training, support and supervision of carers, their families and young people.
  • Take responsibility for the completion of Form F assessments and their presentation to Panel.
  • Take responsibility for administration in relation to the social work task to include timely and accurate recording of all communications, reports and case recordings on electronic files.
  • Work in close partnership with local authorities and any other agencies connected with the fostering service and looked after children.
  • Be willing and able to travel out of hours to meet the needs of the service.
  • Hold a full driving licence with access to a car for business use.
